Lacalita

Powerful. Artful. Distinctive. The Lacalita project was a fully immersive brand experience, where Studio One Eighty crafted an identity that connects deeply with Bali’s artistic culture while honoring Mexican roots. From brand design and custom illustration to a visual narrative that celebrates local craftsmanship, our aim was to create more than just a brand; we aspired to introduce an emblematic experience that resonates.

Drawing from Bali’s rich artistic traditions and the essence of Mexican symbolism, we developed a look that’s as impactful as it is rooted in culture. The central symbol, a hand-drawn jaguar, embodies regenerative power, a visual nod to Lacalita’s Mexican origins, while also channeling the refined, rustic beauty of Balinese art. Paired with a bold yet refined colour palette, the brand feels both edgy and sophisticated, balancing heritage with modern flair.

Our approach merged depth and playfulness, incorporating patterns and type that challenge the ordinary while maintaining an aesthetic harmony. The result? A brand identity that doesn’t just stand out, it speaks to a sense of place and story. It’s a conversation starter, a memorable presence, and a creative showcase of two vibrant cultures fused into one. From ideation through final execution, we ensured each element reflected Lacalita’s personality – artful, culturally aware, and lively.

Ultimately, Lacalita’s brand is more than a design – it’s a tribute to two worlds meeting, wrapped in an unforgettable visual experience.
